Jonathan Knight comes out: News Kids on the Block member confirms he is gay

Jonathan Knighthas officially come out of the closet, a week after the pop star accidentally outed him onBravo's"Watch What Happens Live."

In a blog post published Thursday on a members-only section of theNew Kids on the Blockwebsite, Knight confirmed his sexual orientation for the first time publicly but claimed he had actually privately revealed he was gay"almost twenty years ago."

"I have never been outed by anyone but myself! I did so almost twenty years ago,"the singer wrote, according to a screengrab fromTowleroad.com."I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB!"

"I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay!"he continued."Apparently the pre requiste {sic} to being a gay public figure is to appear on the cover of a magazine with the caption‘I am gay.'"

Knight went on to say he believes"that you live your life by example, and not by a caption on a magazine!"

"If there ever has been any confusion about my sexuality, then you are someone that doesn't even know me!"he added.

The 42-year-old, who will soon embark on a joint tour with the NKOTB and theBackstreet Boys, noted that he won't be addressing his love life publicly again.

"I love living my life being open and honest, but at this time I choose not to discuss my private life any further!"his post concluded."My fellow band members don't discuss their private lives with their loved ones and I don't feel that just because I am gay, I should have to discuss mine!"

Tiffany, who dated Knight when they were rising stars in the late 1980s, told Bravo hostAndy Cohenon Jan. 20 that her ex"became gay later."

She went on to joke about possible clues he might've given regarding his sexuality.

"Now looking back when we were dating,"Tiffany said,"he was so much fun. We used to do facials together. He was so easy to talk to… And he was fabulous."

Shortly after, the songstress came under fire for outing him, prompting an apology onTwitter.

"Really didn't know that was the wrong thing to say,"she tweeted the next day."Never meant to hurt Jon."

And Knight himself ended up defending her.

"Tiff, please don't lose any sleep over it!"he replied to her on Twitter."I know you weren't being mean and I found it to be funny!"

Kim Kardashian slams'Teen Mom'for making teen pregnancy'trendy,'star Amber Portwood fires back

Kim Kardashian, arguably one of the biggest reality stars ever, has a bone to pick with one reality series in particular:"Teen Mom."

The hit MTV show, which chronicles the travails of young women as they deal with the consequences of their unplanned pregnancies, was the subject of Kardashian's ire in a recentblog post.

"It seems that shows like 'Teen Mom' are all of a sudden making teen pregnancy seem cool in the eyes of young girls,"the 30-year-old wrote Wednesday in an entry directed"to all young girls out there."

"The kids from these shows are all over the news, even on the covers of magazines, and have been become almost like celebrities, but girls, these are not people you should idolize!"Kardashian said.

Calling parenting"one of the biggest, and most life-changing decisions a person can make,"the E! reality star insisted"having a baby so young shouldn't be seen as the trendy thing to do."

"Girls, please, think very carefully before you make these kind of decisions,"she encouraged."Talk to your family, friends, teachers, and most of all, be careful."

Not surprisingly, at least two of the"Teen Mom"cast members weren't pleased with Kardashian's post.

"Last time I checked, Kim Kardashian had a sex tape floating around on the Internet and I'm pretty sure she made a lot of money off of it,"Amber Portwood toldE! News."She made a sex tape when she was younger and she wants to bash the girls on 'Teen Mom'?"

Portwood, who has been one of the series' most controversial stars because of her alleged domestic violence against babydaddy Gary Shirley, pointed out a positive effect of the show.

"There's actually a study that shows since the original '16 and Pregnant' aired, the number of teen pregnancies have gone down,"she said, emphasizing that MTV doesn't"glamorize anything."

"It shows the heartache we've all gone through,"Portwood explained."We may be 'celebrities' because our face is out there, but it's only because we've done some bad things. That's not glamorous."

"Teen Mom 2"cast member Jenelle Evans offered up a simpler response to Kardashian's warning:"Sh-t happens."

Jason Sudeikis moves on from January Jones, onto Heather Graham at premiere

Jason Sudeikis is on the prowl. The newly single"Saturday Night Live"cast member, who reportedly just split from"Mad Men"starJanuary Jones, spent nearly an hour hitting onHeather Grahamat the premiere of IFC's"Portlandia"at Edison Ballroom on Wednesday night. Graham, who we hear has split from her beauYaniv Raz, found the actor relatively amusing, but after a male friend of the"Hangover"hottie interruptedSudeikis' game, the funny man moved on to a redhead.

"Portlandia"starFred Armisenand his"SNL"co-starAbby Elliotdid nothing to put rumors of their relationship to rest. The two sat together and periodically smiled at each other during the show's screening. They also stuck close together during a performance later that night by The Thermals. At one point, 44-year-old Armisen even kissed the wall next to where Elliot, 23, was dancing wildly. We won't ask.

Todd English strikes again. The playboy chef left his 27-year-old girlfriend,Candice Sonneman, in tears at a party hosted byNe-Yoand real estate developedAvi Osterat theCarlton Hotelon Wednesday night.

Not long after the singer took the stage, English sidled up to a tall blond model and - placing his hand on her lower back as if he was seasoning a succulent cut of veal - began whispering in her ear in full view of his gal pal.

"My heart is breaking! My heart is breaking!"Sonneman wailed at the sight of English's advance. When we inquired about her distress, she gestured toward English and the model:"Look at my boyfriend over there with that girl!"Before stalking away, the teary-eyed Sonneman told us:"I just can't do this anymore!"

Minutes later, English bid the model adieu and exited, too, but he must be as good at sweet talk as he is in the kitchen. Later that evening, Sonneman was back in his arms, dancing the night away.

Gwyneth Paltrow a pain? New book ready to dish on celebs who can't be bothered with commoners

Sorry,Gwyneth Paltrow, it takes more than a spot on"Glee"to melt your ice-princess image.

Abbe Diaz, who spent several years as a maitre d' at some ofManhattan's poshest restaurants, has the dish on stars' bad behavior - and the regal"Country Strong"star is among those she roasts on her PXThis blog and the books it has spawned.

So while Paltrow tries to recast herself as a relatable mom (see the newGood Housekeepingcover),Diazmaintains she's got some work to do.

After serving Paltrow about a half dozen times in her years as a maitre d' (from 2000 to 2004), Diaz says the actress has a"passive-aggressive comportment… meant to unnerve the plebeians."

"If you're not worthy, it's like you're not there,"the author tells us, although she adds, Paltrow"likes boys" - servers, that is -"as long as they're cute and sweet."

Diaz first made a splash with insider restaurant gossip on her blog, PXThis."PX"stands for"personne extraordinaire" - French for"VIP"and restaurant code for celebrity bookings. She turned her experiences into the diary-style book"PX This."A second,"PX Me: How I Became a Published Author, Got Micro-Famous, and Married a Millionaire,"arrives in June. It will describe Diaz's brushes with Internet infamy, including feuds with Gawker and former employerJean-Georges Vongerichten.

Her celeb stories aren't all bile, however. She saysWill Smithis a"huge, huge"tipper -"like 100%."Stars like that seem to"remember what it's like to struggle a little bit for your cash,"she concludes.

But not all do: Ex-restaurateur (and a former Diaz boss)Brian McNallyonce expressed surprise thatEllen Barkinwasn't nicer to the staff - because he'd dated the actress back when she was waiting tables. Diaz dealt with Barkin several times when she dined withJulianne Moore, who was polite to the point of being apologetic."Overcompensating,"Diaz speculates.

Some stars aren't even nice to each other. Diaz recalls seeing designersMarc Jacobsand the lateAlexander McQueen, each with an entourage, at adjacent lunch tables— and each table acting like the other"wasn't even there."

The toughest customers, she says, are niche VIPs, like magazine editors, who go unnoticed by most NYers but are used to royal treatment within their worlds. Real A-listers hesitate to wield clout.

Once, for example, a colleague of Diaz's failed to recognizeHilary Swankand turned her away."She was a little surprised,"Diaz says, but clearly didn't want to say anything.

Fortunately, the misunderstanding was sorted out. Celebrities can count on happy endings - or at least a table.

Kim Richards rehab:'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'star in treatment after shocking finale

Kim Richardsis an alcoholic? Who knew!?

The 46-year-old reality star of"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"was checked into rehab by her family at the end of the show's shocking season finale on Thursday night.

The painful decision was made after Kim and her sister, Kyle, got into a booze-fueled war of words at fellow castmateTaylor Armstrong's birthday party.

The shouting match initially started between Taylor and a clearly-drunk Kim over a previous fight the women had during a trip toNew York.

The women eventually retreat back to their limo, where Kim calls Kyle a"f--king phony"while Kyle accuses Kim of being"delusional"and"demented."

She tops it off with"You are a liar ... {and} you are an alcoholic! Yeah, that's right. I've said it now, and everybody knows."

The fight continued to escalate with Kyle claiming her husband sends Kim, a single mom, money every month.

"You are so sick. My husband has helped you every month and stood by you and taken care of you, okay, like you're his second f--king wife!"

The show ended with Kyle storming the limo telling her sister that she's on her own.

A written banner then announced Kim was checked into rehab by her family, then checked herself out a week later, and that the sisters have not spoken to each other since the blowout.

On the show's blog, Kyle said she would not divulge what happened after the vicious fight because it's Kim's"story to tell."

"My heart was broken and I suffered an incredible amount of anxiety and panic attacks,"wrote Kyle."Next to losing my mother, this was the most difficult time of my life."

After dating former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy for five years, the actor has set his sights on Anchal Joseph, a one-time"America's Next Top Model"contestant.

Carrey, 49, and Joseph, 24, were photographed holding hands as they left the Tony-nominated play"Time Stands Still"in Manhattan Thursday.

Joseph appeared on the CW reality show's seventh cycle in 2006. She was eliminated during the season's ninth episode.

Perhaps the beauty will have a lot in common with Carrey's daughter, Jane, who is just one year younger.

Carrey and McCarthy split last April.

PerhapsTaylor Swiftcan stay friends with at least one of her exes.

Despite reports that the singer was crushed by an abrupt split fromJake Gyllenhaalin December, the former couple reportedly came together for a meal inNashvilleWednesday.

Swift, 21, and Gyllenhaal, 30, arrived together at Bound'ry, according toPeople.com, where they dined at a table for two near a fireplace.

An eyewitness told the gossip site the stars"were cordial to one another, but not affectionate."

"There was no holding hands, but they seemed happy together,"a second spy revealed, adding that the two were"just chatting away."

Whether the pair patched up their differences enough to give their romance another go remains to be seen.

Brooklyn Decker to Esquire: Men need to be straightforward to get women

Brooklyn Decker,Sports Illustratedcover model and wife of tennis starAndy Roddick, has a message for men: keep your ego in check and play things straight.

In the Februaryissue of Esquire, the blond bombshell opens up aboutNicole Kidman's acting advice, the one chicken dish she can make well (it involves prosciutto) and how men need to be more honest with women.

"Men need to learn to put everything on the table,"Decker told Esquire."Just put everything on the table. And when it comes to the game playing, enough."

The model-turned-actress, who'll take a turn on the big screen opposite rom-com veteransJennifer AnistonandAdam Sandlerin upcoming"Just Go with It,"follows her comment with a quip that men her age still have some growing up to do.

"In their twenties men just want, want, want, want, want,"she said."Don't make everybody deal with your want all the time. It gets so old. You know?"

Perhaps taking her own advice, Decker, now 23,marriedtennis pro Andy Roddick, 28, in April 2009.

While the swimsuit model was named Esquire's 2010 Sexiest Woman Alive, and was catapulted to near-universal sex symbol status after famously donning (and doffing) ayellow string bikini for SI, she recently spoke candidly toGlamour.comabout her less - er, glamorous - days.

"I was 11 years old, and very hairy,"she said."After playing in a soccer game, my mom came up and saw my long blonde leg hairs glistening in the sun and said 'okay honey, it's time.' She was right there with me. We got a special fool-proof razor, and fancy shaving cream but I was only allowed to shave up to my knees!"

Golden Globes 2011: Jake Gyllenhaal takes ex Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley as his date to award show

Jake Gyllenhaal brought one of his famous exes to the Golden Globes on Sunday - but it wasn't Taylor Swift.

His date for the night was Jenny Lewis, singer of the band Rilo Kiley and a former actress.

The former couple, who dated in 2001, has apparently stayed friends through the years. In 2009, Gyllenhaal brought then-girlfriend Reese Witherspoon to see her perform at Coachella. (Lewis also had a small role in Witherspoon's 1998 film,"Pleasantville.")

Still, Lewis' appearance was a surprise to many who thought Gyllenhaal, 30, would spend the night solo or bring a family member to the star-studded awards show.

The two didn't pose for pictures on the red carpet, but Lewis, 35, was never far from his side and could even be seen sitting next to him during the live broadcast.

And when Gyllenhaal, nominated for"Love and Other Drugs,"lost out to"Barney's Version"star Paul Giamatti in the Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) category, it probably helped to have a friend by his side.

According toUs Weekly, the actor's brief relationship with Swift ended via a phone call last month, leaving the 21-year-old singer crushed.

TheOscar-nominatedand Golden-Globe winning actress shot down rumors that she’s dating the"Jersey Shore"cast member whenInterview magazineasked the“Big Love” star if she and DelVecchio were an item.

"No, but I wish, because that would be hilarious,"Sevignysaid."That would be the weirdest couple in the world. It would be like the apocalypse."

Rumors started to swirl that the two were more than just acquaintances when they were seen sitting courtside at theKnicks-Spurs game Jan. 4 atMadison Square Garden.

When pressed why the mythical couple would open so many eyes, Sevigny cited their different professional lives as a potential deal breaker.  

"I think it's because we're both kind of extreme. We represent extremes, in opposite directions. So for us two to come together, it would be a very strange meeting of the minds or colliding of two worlds,"Sevigny said. 

But that doesn’t mean Sevigny hasn’t checked out DelVecchio’s antics on the widely popularMTVshow.

"I haven't watched that many episodes, but of the ones I have... if I were to pick one of the dudes on the show, I'd definitely pick him,"Sevigny said.  

"He seems more affable and kind of funny and easygoing."

In a flash from the past, Playboy posted a 12-year-old photo onTwitterof"Mad Men"starChristina Hendricksin a bikini.

"Tuesday Trivia,"the magazinetweeted."Who is the famous actress in this photo from the July 1999 issue?"

Hendricks can be seen wearing a long, blond wig and a silver bikini as she straddles an overly tanned male wearing nothing but a tiny bathing suit.

Two other women appear in the picture dressed like the actress, along with a clown. But this is no joke.

"For those who guessed Christina Hendricks from 'Mad Men,' way to go!"Playboytweetedlater on."She's on the right and helped illustrate an article on summer shooters."

Hendricks, 35, told the November issue ofHarper's Bazaarthat she's flattered by the compliments her curvaceous figure receives.

A fan once approached her, saying,"'Excuse me, I just want to tell you that I watch your show, and you make me feel better about myself. I am a curvy woman, and you've made me feel sexy and beautiful.'"

Kanye West to Britney Spears:'I'mma let you finish ...'has Twitter followers cringing, laughing

Thanks to his new hit, the joke's not over forKanye West.

After his new collaboration withJay-Z"H.A.M."hit No. 2 oniTunes, the controversial rapper took toTwitterto joke around with another blonde pop tart with the same line that made millions watching theVMAscringe more than a year ago.

"Yo Britney,"he tweeted on Friday."I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you be #1, but me and Jay-Z single is one of the best songs of all time."

The tweet wasn't the first time West made fun of his interruption ofTaylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs that derailed his career for a bit and sent him into hiding for a few months before he reemerged, seemingly strong as ever.

In a free track he posted last summer, he finished the song"Uncle Charlie, by the way, and I'ma let you finish, but I gotBeyonceon the track."

While the tweet toSpearswas caught in a screengrab bypopeater.com, West apparently received enough backlash from the apparently not-funny-yet joke that he took it down on Friday.

"On a serious note, I'm truly happy for @AvrilLavigne and @BritneySpears ... No hate in 2011!"he tweeted.

"I thought LOL signified a joke ... I didn't get the 2011 LOL doesn't signify a joke anymore memo ... LOL or something else I guess,"he added.

On Spears' Twitter account, her managerAdam Leber, tweeted back at West,"Thanks for"letting"us be #1. Much appreciated ..."

Parker, a 28-year-old point guard for theSan Antonio Spurs, and Longoria, 35, each filed petitions to end their three-year marriage in November.

While he's still trying to"make sense of things,"Parker admitted that it helps to"keep things in perspective."

The son of ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who made headlines when he sued to get a spot on his college golf team, told reporters he and Hughes are an item.

"We've only been dating awhile, but we've known each other years and years,"Hughes toldNew York magazine.

"We've tried to figure out how long we've known each other,"Giuliani told the magazine."We're not sure."

Giuliani and Hughes were rumored to be dating after they went to a 2005 movie premiere together, but they were just pals. Now, it's a real romance.

Michael Douglas is cancer-free: Actor says'tumor is gone'after radiation, chemotherapy treatments

Actor Michael Douglassays he's beaten cancer.

The"Wall Street"star is revealing that radiation and chemotherapy treatments he's been undergoing since August have completely gotten rid of the tumor in his throat.

"I think the odds are, with the tumor gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I've got it beat,"an ebullient Douglas said in an interview withMatt Lauerset to air Tuesday morning onNBC's"Today"show.

Douglas said he feels good and that he has started working out again to regain the 32 pounds he lost during what he described as"a wild six-month ride."

"I lost a lot of muscle mass, so I'm going to work on that,"said Douglas, adding that he was looking forward to his next movie, in which he plays the flamboyant piano manLiberace.

Douglas, 66, was diagnosed in August with stage four throat cancer. From the start, he vowed to beat the disease.

He said he learned a couple of days ago that his tumor was gone, sparking a"big celebration"with his wife, actressCatherine Zeta Jones, their son, Dillon, 10, and daughter, Carys, 7.

TheOscar-winningactor said the lingering effects of his treatment is dry-mouth caused by his closed salivary ducts, but his appetite is back to normal.

"I'm eating like a pig,"he said.

He said the ordeal has given him"new depth"in his relationships with loved ones.

"All of a sudden, the affection from my family, from my friends, and from my fans hit me at a much deeper level than I would have ever imagined before,"Douglas said."And it gave me a really new appreciation of just how valuable, how precious good friends are and family."

Lauer's entire interview with Douglas is set to air Jan. 23 on"Dateline NBC."

Conrad Murray's defense says Michael Jackson administered lethal shot himself

ForDr. Conrad Murray, the best defense seems to be a good offense.

Lawyers for the doctor toMichael JacksonFriday hinted that the late singer delivered the shot of propofol to himself, and that Murray had nothing to do with administering the potent anesthetic.

Coroner investigatorElissa Fleaktestified that 12 bottles of propofol were found in the Jackson’s closet and bedroom, nine of which were in a bag labeled"Baby Essentials."Syringes and other medications were also discovered in Jackson’s rented mansion.

Fleak testified in the fourth day of a preliminary hearing to determine if Murray should stand trial for involuntary manslaughter. The x-year-old doctor pleaded not guilty.

Murray’s lawyers asked Fleak on cross examination if the syringes or medication were within Jackson’s reach, but a judge did not allow the investigator to answer the question. Fleak did say that the items were within two feet of the bed.

One of Murray’s former girlfriends, Sade Anding, testified earlier in the day that when the doctor called her that day, she heard a commotion in the background and incoherent mumbling.

"I heard commotion as if the phone was in a pocket or something,"Anding said.

Prosecutors, in an attempt to develop a timeline between when Jackson received the lethal shot of propofol and when 911 was called, said that two other women were called by Murray or received texts around the time of Jackson’s death.

According to phone records, Anding was called at 11:51 a.m. In her testimony, Anding said that she stayed on the line for about five minutes, but Murray never got back to her.

Records show that 911 wasn’t called until 12:21 p.m.

"It shows a distinct pattern by Dr. Murray of whether he is making the phone call or receiving the phone call, that he carries on personal, social business when his attention should be on his patient Michael Jackson,"Deputy District Attorney David Walgrensaid, according to court transcripts."{Anding’s call} highlights the priorities Dr. Murray was placing at the time. His focus should have been on his patient when instead at 11:51, the evidence will show he is making a phone call to this cocktail waitress inHouston."

Sandra Bullockand 2010 Sexiest Man AliveRyan Reynoldsrang in the new year together in a friendly celebration at the actress'Austin, Texasrestaurant along with a few close pals, according toPeople.com.

Reynolds, 34, and Bullock, 46, kept it close with a"group of old friends,"the actress' rep confirmed to People."They all had a great time ringing in the New Year as they have in the past ... as nothing more than friends."

Lindsay Lohan quotes Gandhi in first Twitter message of the New Year

Lindsay Lohan'sNew Year'sresolution is to follow in the footsteps ofMahatma Gandhi.

In the 24-year-old actress' firstTwittermessage since Nov. 26, she quoted the former political leader who helpedIndiagain independence in the early 1900s.

"Today is the first day of the rest of my life 'The future depends on what we do in the present.' -Mahatma Gandhi,"she tweeted on Saturday, before adding,"One step at a time...."

Gandhi, who was assassinated in 1948, is famous for undertaking long fasts as a means of purification and protest.

This is the first time Lohan has used the social networking site since allegedly getting into a fight with a formerBetty Ford Centeremployee on Dec. 12.

The incident is reportedly being investigated while Lohan remains in rehab.

She is expected to be released from the treatment facility on Monday.

The actor who fell 30 feet while playing Spider-Man on Broadway will be released from a rehab facility Wednesday and will head home toNew Hampshire.

Christopher Tierneysuffered a skull fracture and cracked vertebrae in his Dec. 20 fall at"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."He underwent back surgery.

The $65 million show is the most expensive ever on Broadway. It canceled two preview performances after the stunt actor's fall, then reopened with new safety and security measures.

It's scheduled to open officially on Feb. 7.
