Andrew Giuliani and Sarah Hughes dating, son of former mayor and gold medal winner are new item

At least one of 'em is a champ - golf flopAndrew Giulianiis dating Olympic gold medal figure skaterSarah Hughes.

The son of ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who made headlines when he sued to get a spot on his college golf team, told reporters he and Hughes are an item.

"We've only been dating awhile, but we've known each other years and years,"Hughes toldNew York magazine.

"We've tried to figure out how long we've known each other,"Giuliani told the magazine."We're not sure."

Giuliani and Hughes were rumored to be dating after they went to a 2005 movie premiere together, but they were just pals. Now, it's a real romance.

Hughes, 25, won the gold medal at the2002 Winter OlympicsinSalt Lake City, beatingMichelle Kwan.

Andrew Giuliani, 24, who famously misbehaved as a child at his dad's first mayoral inauguration, was a successful youth golfer.

He made headlines in 2008 with his quixotic effort to stay on theDuke Universitygolf team after he was dumped from the squad. He sued the school, claiming he'd been promised a place on the team, but a judge tossed the case.
