Chris Brown's court-ordered anger management course doesn't seem to have done much good - and that doesn't surprise one New York therapist who treats rage issues.
"At a certain level, an anger management plan isn't going to work,"Dr. Robert Fraum said.
"You need one-to-one with an anger management therapist who utilizes a variety of techniques to focus on the psychological, behavioral and family components. You need to come at it in every way possible."
Fraum said singer Brown, who took classes after he beat up ex-girlfriend Rhianna, may have low self-esteem.
"Anger focuses,"he said."It makes them feel empowered and their sense of self-esteem is restored momentarily."
Other celebrities who have also fallen off the anger management bandwagon:
- Supermodel Naomi Campbell went to anger management after she spat at a police officer in a fight over missing baggage at London's Heathrow Airport in 2008.
In 2010, she was back in the headlines accused of assaulting her driver, who later said he"overreacted."
- Rap princess Foxy Brown enrolled after getting into a brawl in a nail salon in 2004.
She received an"an excellent report from probation"but was back in court last year for cursing out and mooning her neighbor on a Brooklyn sidewalk.
- Alec Baldwin was ordered to attend anger management classes after his divorce from Kim Basinger in 2002.
In 2007, during the ensuing custody battle over their daughter, Ireland, he left a voicemail for his daughter branding her"a rude, thoughtless, little pig."
