Prince William and Kate Middleton brave rain for last public appearance before April wedding date

Heavy rains did little to dampen the smiles ofPrince WilliamandKate MiddletonMonday as they made their final public appearance as an engaged couple.

The next public outing for the royal-couple-to-be will be at their April 29Westminster Abbeywedding.

At a community school in northwesternEngland, William spoke of his good fortune."I have the support of my family and friends, I do a job, I enjoy, and I have Catherine,"he said.

Adoring crowds waited in the rain inBlackburnin northwestern England to see the couple.

William and Kate then went to nearby Witton Country Park, where Middleton showed off her engagement ring to a group of young girls.

"Kate said that she used to be a bit of a high jumper, so that's good to know that they're quite sporty,"said pole-vaulter Holly Bleasdale.
