Whoopi won’t wait for noodles. When the"View"co-host dispatched her assistant to Ollie’s Noodle Shop Tuesday night, the restaurant had a long line of would-be diners already queued up. A source tells us the assistant tried to explain he worked forWhoopi Goldberg— but Ollie’s manager was skeptical. Then Whoopi herself arrived. The manager did his best to accommodate, explaining he’d need 10-15 minutes to arrange things, but Whoopi didn’t want to stick it out and left without eating. Maybe she’s a little antsy: The Broadway version of her movie"Sister Act,"of which she is a producer, opened last night. Hopefully she awoke to good reviews and didn’t miss those dumplings.
Might be up your alley
New York film aficionados should keep an eye on the lineup for Friday's"The Grill @Tribeca"film festival panel. TheWrap.com touts it as"featuring the most innovative thinkers and commanding voices in the business of independent film"— but several of those thinkers and voices have already backed out.Bob Berney(the distributor who gambled on"The Passion of the Christ"),Jonathan Sehring(ofIndependent Film ChannelEntertainment) andGraham Taylor(ofWilliam Morris Endeavor) have all canceled, and while their names have been removed from the panel’s site, they were still listed as recently as Tuesday. We also hear thatTom BernardofSony Pictures Classicswas initially in the mix, and pulled out even before the rest— perhaps less than eager to sit through the extended musings of panelistHarvey Weinstein. The Wrap’sSharon Waxmansaid in a statement,"We’ve secured an outstanding lineup of guest speakers and are looking forward to an engaging day of industry dialogue."
They've got their own spot
Who needs the In Crowd when you’ve got the Twin Crowd?CharlotteandSamantha Ronsonseemed unimpressed with the company at uber-exclusiveEast Villagehaunt The Cabin Down Below, where they were spotted around 2:30 yesterday morning. The rest of their group of seven or so pals was having a good time, our source tells us, but the talented twins looked bored. Samantha kept on her hat and leather jacket, and chain-smoked inside (rules be damned)."They were in their own little twin world,"said the source. Of course, we hear older Ronson brother Mark and Sam’s exLindsay Lohanhave each been spotted at Cabin recently— so maybe it’s just a boring friends-and-family hangout.
Still got it
Parker Posey's still a"Party Girl"! The indie queen looked like she was reliving her 1995 cult-fave role (in which she played a downtown nightlife denizen) when she hit B-Bar Tuesday night for"Beige,"the club’s mainly male gay night. A source tells us she came with a female friend, but was soon approached by several gay dudes. Taking shots, laughing and cuddling with her pal, Posey"really blended in."Her"Party Girl"character would have been proud of the actress’ style: She wore a scarf she jokingly put over her companions’ faces, and topped off her look with a beret for maximum ’90s nostalgia.
He's good with his hands
Simon van Kempenlent a helping hand Tuesday night at Lucky Strike Lanes& Lounge in more ways than one. The"Real Housewives of New York City"hubby stopped by an event that benefitted youth inCamden, N.J., with wifeAlex McCord. He then helped Urban Promise charity founder and celeb photographerJerritt Clarkbowl the top score of 167. Despite the fourth season of theBravoshow getting mixed reviews, McCord andRamona Singer, who was also there (but didn’t bowl due to her fondness for high-heeled shoes), told guests they are"very happy"with how it’s been proceeding. The show’s premiere, initially scheduled for February, had been pushed back to April.
